This adventurous rountrip begins in Bolivias „most popular city“ Santa Cruz. From here you will take the train to the jesuit missions and visit the impressive sites of San Jose de Chiquitos, San Rafael, San Miguel until you get to San Ignacio. From there the trip continues to one of Southamericas greatest Nationalparks, the Noel Kempff, the inspiration for the book “The Lost World”. Back in Santa Cruz you will fly to the colonial white city of Sucre. Afterwards you will be visiting the mining town of Potosi where you will find ancient and still working silver mines. The tour will then lead you to the „Old West” town of Tupiza where you will experience the beautiful surroundings on the “Butch Cassidy und Sundance Kid”-route, a 2-day horseback ride. From Tupiza you will eventually reach the impressive red and green lagoons of the National Park Eduardo Avaroa and get to the biggest salt flat in the world, the Salar de Uyuni. From there the tour takes you on to La Paz, one of the highest cities in the world and from there you will have a few days to visit the wonderful Lake Titicaca until you get back to La Paz, where your journey ends.

Day 1, Santa Cruz:
Pick up from the airport in Santa Cruz and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in a hotel in Santa Cruz.

Day 2, Santa Cruz – Robore – Santiago de Chiquitos:
Freetime in Santa Cruz. At night transfer to the train station where you will take the train to Robore, the begin of your jesuit mission circuit. Arrive in Robore and transfer to Santiago de Chiquitos, where you will spend the night.
Day 3, Santiago de Chiquitos:
Breakfast. In the morning visit to the observation point „Valle de Tucava“ and the nearby bizarre stone formations. Lunch. After having lunch you will be exploring the town of Santiago de Chiquitos. Overnight in Santiago de Chiquitos.
Day 4, Santiago de Chiquitos - Robore:
After having breakfast you will be visiting optional the waterfalls of San Luis along with a 8-10 hour tour through the dense forest. Then you continue to Aguas Calientes, the termal baths close to Robore.Return to Robore. Dinner and Overnight in Robore.
Day 5,Robore–San Jose de Chiquitos:
Breakfast. Visit to the sanctuary of Chochis. Depart to San Jose de Chiquitos. Arrive in San Jose. Lunch and visit to the jesuit church, declared world heritage site by the UNESCO in 1990 when it was completely authentic restaured. Afterwards visit to old city site of Santa Cruz „Santa Cruz la Vieja“. Visit to Valle de la Luna before you end the day in San Jose de Chiquitos, where you will have dinner. Overnight in San Jose de Chiquitos.
Day 6, San Jose de Chiquitos – San Rafael – Santa Ana – San Ignacio de Velasco:
Breakfast. On this day you will visit San Rafael de Velasco, where you will get to know another mission town. The missions you will be visiting on this day are particulary interesting due to their impressive wooden architecture. Every mission was founded in the 18 th century and declared world heritage site by the UNESCO. After visiting San Rafael you will be taken to to the tiny town of Santa Ana until you reach San Ignacio de Velasco, where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day7, San Ignacio de Velasco – Florida – El Encanto:
After breakfast depart to the Noel Kempff National Park, one of Southamericas greatest portected areas. Arrive to La Florida, a little community that serves as entrance to the Park. After having lunch you will enter the actual Park Noel Kempff Mercado and visit at first the impressive huge 80 meter tall waterfall “El Encanto”. Dinner and overnight in the camping area “El Encanto”.
Day 8: El Encanto – Meseta Caparu :
Breakfast. Visit to the table mountain „Meseta Caparu“. This 150km long table mountain served as the inspiration for the book „The lost world”. From the top you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding flats with red sand stone. You will also be able to walk around the abandoned drug laboratories. As the Noel Kempff National Park has more bird species than the North American continent you will be able to see numerous species of birds. A truly lost world. Lunch. During the afternoon you will do a walking tour in the sourrounding savannahs and forests and visit “La Piscina”. Dinner and camping at the Meseta Caparu camping area.
Day 9: Meseta Caparu - Florida:
Breakfast. After having breakfast you will leave to go back to the community of La Florida. Lunch. At night we will take you on a night tour to see the secret fauna and flora of this area. Overnight in Florida.
Day 10, Florida – Concepcion – Santa Cruz:
After breakfast you return to Santa Cruz with overstop in the mission town Concepcion, where you will have lunch and visit the town. Arrive in Santa Cruz. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 11, Santa Cruz - Sucre:
Flight Santa Cruz – Sucre. Arrive in Sucre, the official capital of Bolivia. This beautiful town with its impressive colonial architecture at oonly 2.790 meters was declared world heritage site by the UNESCO in 1991. Arrrive in Sucre and transfer to the hotel. Freetime in Sucre to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Sucre.
Day 12, Sucre :
Breakfast. Make sure that this day is a Sunday! You will be able to visit the traditional sunday market of Tarabuco, a small town outside of Sucre. Overnight in Sucre.
Day 13, Sucre - Potosi:
Visit to the dinosaurs tracks near Sucre. During the afternoon you will take the bus to Potosí (not included). Overnight in Potosí.
Day 14, Potosi - Tupiza:
Breakfast. The worlds most highest city invites you to visit its famous silver-rich mines. After visiting the mines you will take the bus to Tupiza, a town in Southern Bolivia. Overnight in Tupiza.
Day 15, Tupiza:
Breakfast. In between red and coloful hills you will follow the route of Butch Cassidy and Suncance Kid, the two US-outlaws. It will be a 2-day horseride excursion. The red canyons and surroundings will be stunishing. Alternatively you can also do the tour in a 4W Jeep. The tour will take you on the first day to Huaca Huañusca, about 50km outside of Tupiza. On the way you will be passing mines, red canyons and numerous cactuses.
Day 16, Tupiza:
On this day you will reach San Vicente, a small ghost town and pilgrimage site of Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, about 119km from Tupiza. The two were killed here in 1908 by the bolivian military. During the afternoon you will return to Tupiza. Overnight and dinner in Tupiza.
Day 17, Tupiza – San Antonio de Lipez :
Breakfast. After having breakfast you will depart Tupiza to go on a 4-day trip to the National Park Eduardo Avaroa with the impressive colorful and high mineral concentrated lagoons until you finally get to the salt flats „Salar de Uyuni“, the world biggest salt flats with a size of 12000km2. The first day of your trip you will reach the little town of San Antonio de Lipez, on 4200m, where you will spend the night. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 18, San Antonio de Lipez – Red Lagoon:
On this day you will go further south to the green lagoon. Behind the lake rises the cone of Volcan Licancabur, that with 5950m, presents the border to Chile. Lunch inclusive. Afterwards you will continue to the Sol de Mañana, Geysers with bubbling mud spots and fountain erruptions. You will then get to the Red Lagoon, Laguna Colorada which is rich in Flamencos and has a dark red color. Dinner and overnight in a refugee at the Laguna Colorada.
Day 19, Red Lagoon – San Juan:
Breakfast. Visit to Arbol die Piedra, the famous „Stone Tree“ in the Siloli desert. From there you will pass by various lagoons and finally get to San Juan, where you will have dinner and overnight.
Day 20, San Juan – Uyuni :
On this day the tour will take you to the Salar de Uyuni, the biggest saltfalt in the world. You will be able to see the most beautiful sunrise and later on have breakfast on the saltflats. In the heart of the Salt lake you will find the “Isla de Pescado”, fish island, where you will find an unusual ecosystem with cactuses more than 8 meters high. From the top you will have spectacular panoramic views of the salar. Lunch. Then you will visit another island, the island Casacara de Huevo. Visit to the salt hotel and the salt production site of Colchani. Arrive in Uyuni. Dinner. Later at night you will take the train to Oruro.
Day 21 , Uyuni – Oruro – La Paz:
Arrive in Oruro early in the morning. From there you will take the bus to La Paz. Arrive in La Paz. In La Paz you will have the day free to explore La Paz on your own. We recommend visiting the many and colorful markets. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 22, La Paz:
Breakfast. On this day you will have the option to visit the moon valley, where you will find bizarre rock formation, or you will visit Bolivias most famous ruines, Tiwanaku or the Chacaltaya summit. Overnight in La Paz.
Day 23, La Paz – Copacabana – Sun Island:
Busride to Huatajata, Lake Titicaca. Before you board the hydrofoil boat you will visit the Anden Roots Eco Village, where you will be introduced to the local culture. The hydrofoil boat will take you afterwards to the moon island, where you will visit the holy temple of the Inkas. From there you will get to the little pilkgrimage town of Copacabana, situated on the shores of the Lake. After having visited Copacabana you will continue on to Sun Island, identified as the Inkas birthplace. Lunch on the island. Overnight in the ecolodge on Sun Island. Dinner included.
Day 24, Sun Island– Copacabana - La Paz:
After breakfast freetime. Lunch on the Island. Return to Copacabana with the hydrofoil boat. Arrive in Copacabana and Departure to La Paz. Arrive in La Paz and Transfer to the hotel.
Day 25, La Paz:
Transfer to the airport. Flight back home.
