The Posada del Inca located on the top of the Island of the Sun is an authentic colonial Hacienda, now restored into a solar energy powered ecological lodge, which conserves the magical charm and environment of the 17th century.

The lodge offers 20 rooms with all modern conveniences such as private bathroom, hot water, heating blankets and restaurant. All rooms are artistically decorated with rustic furniture and restored antiques. Situated on one of the most beautiful areas of the Island of the Sun,
with a fantastic view of Lake Titicaca , the Ecolodge is a perfect
example of modern sustainable tourism. The Ecolodge, La
Estancia, is a complex of 11 bungalows built in the style of
tiny picturesque local villages. It harmoniously fits into the
landscape of the Island of the Sun. All of the bungalows are well
furnished and offer a breath-taking view of the lake.

The Lodge utilizes environmentally friendly technologies such as the use of solar energy to heat water. The local authorities were consulted in the design and building of the Lodge, which is named after the local community, La Estancia. It is quite impressive that by the shape of the porch, solar energy can be used to heat the rooms even at night. The complex is served by fully trained local staff, and crafts made by local tradesmen are available. It is surrounded by lush green spaces, which are cultivated by the local population. Pre-colonial style terraces were built. Fresh vegetables are provided by local framers and freshly prepared in the restaurant.
